Ellsworth County Medical Center (ECMC), Ellsworth, Kansas provides quality care through its 20 bed Critical Access Hospital and four Rural Health Clinics.
The hospital has been in existence, serving the needs of the growing community since 1898. In 1998 the hospital moved into its current building out of the 1921 facility. A CT Suite was added, a beautiful clinic to house the current providers, a Wellness Center, an Out-Patient Specialty Clinic, and an Administrative Building has been added to the campus. Outlying clinics staffed on a rotation basis by providers, are located in Holyrood, Wilson and Lucas, Kansas.

Ellsworth is situated between two beautiful state parks and state-operated lakes (Wilson and Kanopolis Lakes). Both lakes offer boating, sailing, skiing and swimming opportunities. Hunting (small and large game) is abundant. Various sports are also readily available (cross-county skiing, horseback riding, and hiking). Shopping is abundant in Salina, Great Bend, Hays or Wichita. Ellsworth is historically known as a cow town, but in recent years is taking-on a more "bedroom community" atmosphere. We are within two hours' drive of a number of colleges: Kansas Wesleyan University, Barton County Community College, Bethany College, Sterling College, K-State (Salina and Manhattan campuses), or Fort Hays State University. Ellsworth's elementary public school is a two-time Blue Ribbon Awarded school. The middle, junior and high schools provide a quality education to constituents.
Ellsworth is a wonderful small town with many amenities for our size. We have a beautiful library, museum, terrific sports program, rodeo, outdoor pool and golf course. Ample local shopping is available with a grocery store, department stores, a variety of restaurants. Other shops serve the area well providing the necessities of a busy lifestyle. The infrastructure of the county is very adequate to meet the needs with regard to law enforcement, utilities, planning and expansion. Industry is varied with manufacturing, retail, corrections, agriculture, service and healthcare. Healthcare partners in the area include: public health, optometrists, dentists, chiropractics, long term health facilities, drug stores, hospice, and home health.
