Mitchell County Hospital Health Systems (MCHHS), located in Beloit, Kansas serves the North Central Kansas patients and communities with exceptional healthcare in a compassionate and healing environment.

Established in 1929, the regional hospital has evolved as a progressive critical access facility, which also houses a 40 bed Residential Care Center and a 10 bed Geriatric Special Care Unit. The new 25 bed acute care wing, built in 2010, includes a 4 bed ICU and offers private rooms for all patients. The disbursement of activity creates a quiet, calm environment conducive to healing. Annually, the hospital has approximately 1000 admissions, 100,000 ancillary services and delivers 100 babies. Average census is 88%.

Mitchell County Hospital Health Systems has been very committed to providing our community with modern facilities and technology. The hospital has totally digitalized its diagnostic images which include MRI, Multi-slice CT, Mammography, Nuclear Scans, and radiographs. The surgery department has state of the art equipment including high definition scopes and monitors. This hospital ranks in the top tier of Kansas statewide benchmarks for its commitment to acquire up to date equipment and facilities. In addition there are three community philanthropic organizations that have also provided substantial equipment donations and improvements; this community supports this hospital.

MCHHS Receives Level IV Trauma Designation - Mitchell County Hospital Health Systems (MCHHS) received one of the first Level IV trauma center designations in Kansas at the May, 2012 meeting of the State's Advisory Committee on Trauma.

Mitchell County Regional Medical Foundation (MCRMF) - MCRMF was founded in 2008 and took on the 2009 Capital Campaign for a new acute care wing at Mitchell County Hospital Health Systems as its first project. A successful $1.3 million was raised for the $11 million project, with a Fall 2010 completion date. MCRMF is currently raising funds to renovate the historic Perdue House for hospitality rooms and Foundation offices.

NCK Wellness Center - Partnering with the City of Beloit and North Central Kansas Tech, MCHHS manages the NCK Wellness Center which provides work out facilities, a racquetball court, fitness classes, and an indoor pool and spa.


Loan Repayment and Tax Incentives:

Mitchell County is authorized to participate in the Rural Opportunity Zones student loan repayment and tax waivers program. Click HERE to view our Rural Opportunity Zones program offered through the Kansas Department of Commerce.

All primary care physician opportunities in Beloit qualify for the Kansas Medical Student Loan (KMSL), the Osteopathic Medical Service Scholarship (OMS) and the Kansas Bridging Plan.

Beloit is the county seat of Mitchell County. A thriving rural community in north central Kansas, Beloit has experienced positive growth in population over the past year. Agriculture is the largest industry in the county, with the regional hospital and technical college as large employers as well. Beloit is considered the gateway to beautiful Waconda Lake, located 15 miles west on Hwy 24. The popular spot for water activities such as boating, fishing, and skiing also boasts over 11,000 acres of prime public hunting ground. The community is widely known for its excellent schools, historic homes, and friendly people.
